Maria Alesi is a Social Worker passionate about social justice. Her work involves providing programme and strategic support to community-based activists across Uganda to ensure their efforts contribute to the protection and protection of human rights. She works with activists working in the areas of women’s rights, migrant rights, natural resource governance, and restoring democracy and rule of law. She is a member of the International Network to End Violence Against Women and Girls (INEVAWG), Uganda Feminist Forum and has served on the board of two Feminist non-profit organizations. She contributed to knowledge in transformational feminist leadership, movement building, refugee rights, youth participation in politics, community policing in Uganda and the rights of sexual and gender minorities.
